About Spiria

Spiria (Spiria Digital Inc.) is a Montreal custom software company founded in 2003. The official site sells custom software that lasts, application modernization, AI, discovery, UX/UI, cross-platform development, team extension, QA, and support for complex business systems. It lists 150+ on-shore experts across Montreal, Gatineau-Ottawa, and Oakville-Toronto, bilingual English/French delivery, SOC 2 Type 2 on the about page, and named work in manufacturing, insurance, real estate, healthcare, media, and defence. Directories list Montréal, $150-199/hr, a $50,000+ minimum, and a 50-249 person team.

Who Spiria Is Best For

Spiria is best for companies that want custom software, application modernization, and AI built by an onshore Quebec/Ontario team rather than an offshore bench. The official site dates the firm to 2003 (college friends Patrick and Stéphane; originally Innobec, renamed Spiria in 2016), cites 150+ digital experts, 600+ clients, and 2000+ projects, and lists offices in Montreal, Gatineau, and Toronto. Directories list $150-199/hr, a $50,000+ floor, and a 50-249 person team. Not a fit if you need a sub-$50,000 prototype, a low-cost offshore rate, or a large US studio as the primary delivery base.

Why Choose Spiria

Official site is built around long-lived custom software, modernization, and AI for complex operations, not throwaway MVPs
Onshore Canada delivery with named Montreal, Gatineau, and Toronto offices and bilingual English/French experts
About page cites 22+ years, 150+ people, 600+ clients, 2000+ projects, and SOC 2 Type 2
Named client work on their own site includes Empire Life, Autodesk, La Presse, Broadsign, and Timber Mart

Things to Consider

$150-199/hr and a $50,000+ floor exclude smaller prototype-only budgets
Primary delivery is Eastern Canada; Toronto is listed as an office, not a large US studio
Clutch lists 50-249 people while the site says 150+, so exact bench size is a range
Broad custom-software-plus-AI menu is less focused than a specialist product studio

There appears to be a tendency to underestimate individuals. A lack of mutual respect can at times be observed. The Human Resources function may be perceived as lacking transparency and sincerity. It may be advisable to approach this company with caution. Your time might be more effectively invested elsewhere.

I have to say, my experience with Spiria has been a complete and utter nightmare. Right from the get-go, it was clear that their communication skills are seriously lacking. It felt like pulling teeth to get a response from anyone on their team. You'd ask important questions or express concerns, and it seemed like they were either ignored or answered in the vaguest way possible. Now, let's talk about the work they delivered. Shockingly shoddy is an understatement. It was filled with errors and didn't even come close to meeting the standards we'd agreed upon. It's almost as if they put in the least amount of effort and just didn't give a darn about the quality of their work. As if that wasn't bad enough, Spiria missed multiple deadlines, turning what should have been a straightforward project into a never-ending ordeal. It's like time had no meaning to them, and our project was stuck in a constant state of delay. But what really takes the cake is their complete lack of accountability. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they were experts at finger-pointing, making it nearly impossible to resolve any issues that came up. And let's not forget the financial blow – the project ended up costing us considerably more than their initial estimate! They failed miserably when it came to providing accurate cost estimates, leaving us with a whopping bill we never saw coming. I can't stress enough how much I regret choosing Spiria for our project. This experience was an absolute disaster. I wholeheartedly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere. Save yourself a truckload of stress and frustration – there are far better options out there for your projects, time, and money.
